FRIENDS OF THE WHANGANUI RIVER

Maritime historian Geoff Potts has previously taken walks on the Whanganui River's western bank. Today he guides us along the eastern bank from Landguard Bluff to opposite Port Castlecliff, looking at gun emplacements, old wrecks and manmade efforts to shore up the bank. Wear sturdy footwear and be prepared for the occasional scramble around logs.
